Jeanne Brink

Jeanne Brink is an Abenaki basketmaker from Barre, Vermont. She is granddaughter and great niece of the Obomsawins of Thompson's Point, Vermont, well known Abenaki basketmakers who practiced their craft until 1959. Jeanne is continuing the Obomsawin tradition of fine craftsmanship in tradition Abenaki ash splint and sweet grass basketry. She has served a two-year apprenticeship in Abenaki basketry through the Vermont Folklife Center's Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program and has served as a master basketmaker with five apprentices. Her work has been exhibited all over New England.
